Surface: Accuracy from Start to Finish
When using a granite surface plate from which
measurements are taken, each linear dimension depends
on an accurate, verifiable surface. If these measurements
are referenced from an unreliable surface, everything
measured from that point on is invalid. A part may actually
be rejected when in reality the deviation in the surface
is being transferred onto an acceptable part.
