Laser Technology vs. the Optical Method
DLM performs on-site calibrations using state-of-the-art
laser interferometers adapted to various types of
accessories to meet or exceed specification requirements.
This method has proven to be far
more accurate than traditional optical calibration
techniques. The built-in scales of an optical instrument
normally have to be read by a technician and sometimes
recorded manually onto worksheets.
Unlike with the laser Doppler technology, this method
increases the possibility of measurement calculation
and transcription errors. Another advantage over optical
systems is the ability of lasers to automatically
compensate for fluctuations in temperature. The right
technology in the hands of a skilled craftsman is
the tangible difference between DLM and its competitors.
